21^stCentury Men! Men of All Ages Need This!

One of the things that life taught me in the military was that I couldn’t do it alone.  I needed a team of Brothers that could help me weather the storm of life.  One thing the Navy didn’t teach me though was life after I Retired.  The team wasn’t there anymore on a daily basis.  The civilian world will never understand the Veteran and the internal demons that we face.  21^stCentury Men has been the only thing that has come close to filling that void.  Doing life alone doesn’t work.  Having a group of men to rely on has been critical in keeping me focused on my purpose in life and has helped me serve others in a deeper more profound level.

Life is about facing challenges daily…. sometimes those challenges are internal and hard to explain.  We need a place to go to that isn’t typical therapy at all but a place of refuge where men can be men without fear of being chastised for our beliefs.  Men need to hear the Veteran story….they need to understand who we are and we need to get that we are not alone in this journey.  As a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy I was called upon to lead others from THE FRONT!  I needed to be “Brilliant on the Basics”…  We are called upon to Lead even after our Oath of Enlisted in over.

21^stCentury Men provides a new formula of life’s Basics which will increase the quality of your relationships more than you could possibly imagine.  The more I dive into the basics the more fulfilled my life has become.

The Men’s Weekend Review

I just got back from an intensive 3-day workshop and retreat with some great, open-hearted men!  Both giving and getting support to and from these men has re-energized my commitment to myself, my family and the world, at large. It demonstrated to me the importance real vulnerability with my peers, on a deeper level.  It brought me back to the basics of what a “good man” looks like, while at the same time, left me with things I need to address in my life in order to achieve my potential.  At a time in our world when masculine isolation is at epidemic proportions, I would highly recommend this experience to any man looking to up his game!

The weekend provides men the “guy time” in an open, non-judging environment where they feel they can support and learn from other men going through this thing we call life. As a former active duty US Marine, the weekend demonstrated to me camaraderie and trust found in many military units, and which I believe is invaluable to men.  For me, it wasn’t something developed over the course of the weekend, it was present within the first hour and strengthened throughout the weekend and extended beyond our time together.

Sean and Gary have developed and protected an experience that brings men from all walks of life together to talk about the challenges and victories we all have on a daily basis, and more importantly practical steps and lessons we can apply on a daily basis. I found myself wanting to engage others, learn from others, and share in both the highs and lows.  I have not found this same level of camaraderie and teamwork since leaving the Marine Corps.  While thousands of companies talk about wanting this level of teamwork, trust, and willingness to show vulnerability – 21st Century Men has achieved it.  I would highly recommend “the weekend” to active duty, newly separated veterans, and veterans who want to be part of something bigger of men-helping-men.
